Ruta Cumbres de Gran Canaria and Roque Nublo
Ruta Cumbres de Gran Canaria and Roque Nublo
This route will take you through the center of the island, its highest peaks and the Roque Nublo. We will start in the north with a visit to San Mateo, a town with great tradition, a beautiful church of the 19th century, a splendid mall of the middle of the last century and we will walk through its large market of Canarian products.
Then we will go to the top of the mountains; to the Pico de las Nieves, which is the roof of the island with its 1949mts height. There, impressive views await you. From here we will continue to see up close the ROQUE NUBLO, a huge basaltic rock in the shape of a monolith over 70 meters high, arising as a result of volcanic activity and erosion.
In the pine forest Los Llanos de la Pez we will take a break and a picnic lunch. We will descend to the Cruz de Tejeda and its National Parador, where you can taste products such as cheeses, olives, almonds, as well as buy typical Canarian crafts. On the way back we will pass through Valleseco, famous for its apples and Canarian cider.
